Seoul-Incheon (16 Miles, though, I don't know how truly similar these ones might be.)
Shanghai-Suzhou (50 Miles, though it works because I think you can get between the two within 30 minutes or less.)
Beijing-Tianjin (60ish Miles, but works for the same reason as the above.)
Vienna-Bratislava (33 Miles, maybe one of the best multiple country capital pairings.)
Rhine-Ruhr (in general, a grouping of relatively prominent cities. In fact, one could visit 10 of Germany's 20 largest cities in a span of 170 miles, including 4 of the top 9 in a span of 60 miles).
America's strongest grouping like that would have to be Bay Area IMO. I could see the Bos-Wash corridor contending, except the fact that they are really too far at this point still to be a regular commuter's distance or one could go to one or the other just for the evening, and such, at least IMO. That said, the DC beltway certainly qualifies.
3 of Mexico's 5 Largest Cities (Including Mexico City, of course), are within a "bird span" of 100 miles. I don't think they're connected well enough to be commutable though, given the mountain ranges.

Don’t think theres any better city combo than that one..
London and Paris, as in a tale of two cities and numerous other books and both are linked through shared history, war, adversity and literature/art etc.
The two cities are 2 hours from each other by train.

2 hours even might be a bit much though when considering that the only way of quick access is train, I don't think it's quite like Osaka/Kyoto with the whole, as those two I believe are no more than 30 minutes apart.
I think Osaka/Kyoto region when considering them in combination can compete with the great city regions of the world to be sure (including Greater London and Greater Paris). I think that there could be significant dialogue or debate about which the two best that are somewhat more regional like that (within 3 hours) is, between the Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto corridor and the London-Paris corridor. Those might duke it out for Top 2 combos like that in the world, with each having certain more desirable and impressive elements respectively.

My only experience with Incheon is using its airport, but from what I've heard, it's not anything particularly special. Sure, it's a big city; but that's about it. More industrial than anything else.
Seoul, on the other hand, is amazing.
