A lot of ignorant white people will call all East Asians “Chinese” and to them they are all the same because they all have “slanted” eyes.

It's not so uncommon some people can't tell east Asians apart and will use the term Chinese for all east Asians.

As a matter of curiosity, here in Brazil they are instead called "Japanese".

This map that I made some time ago, caused some rage on the Reddit community, trying to define the western world:

I think the west is commonly refered as the most developed western nations. the Western Europe (EU-15 + EFTA), Northern America and Australasia. But I'd prefer to include the whole EU/EEA/Switzerland region, and small developed western states Andorra, Holy See, Monaco, and San Marino, instead of OECD's or NATO's Europe/Turkey.

I find it hilarious that Communist and ex-communist countries are excluded from being considered part of the Western world when it was created by Westerner, for Westerners as a critique of Western capitalist culture.

Also why are Romania, Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria part of the Western World when Serbia isn't? Your map makes no sense.

It makes sense when americans google the word "EU".

I disagree with the map though.

I disagree with the map too. Latin America is definitely a part of the Western World.
