Why Perth? I've always been very intrigued by it.

Haha looks like you love the ocean! Why Mauritius, I would like to know more about it!
I have friends in Perth. Also it is a nice city. Wonderful beaches, good weather, big enough.

Home Bases By Continent
Global Home: Cleveland (OH) (will forever be)
North America: Montreal (I surprised myself, but it's livable, safe, affordable, active, and cultural/historical)
South America: Lima
Antarctica: McMurdo Station
Oceania: Auckland
Africa: Cape Town
Asia: Hong Kong (though I strongly considered Osaka, Nagano, Seoul, Tel Aviv and Taipei, as well)
Europe: Helsinki or Dublin (this was one I had difficulty deciding, with numerous other strong contenders)
