After researching this out finally with my mother and her 3 passports (US,UK,China), I finally determined that under her UK citenship, she is categorized as a BNO (British national overseas) and is able to pass down her rights of citizenship to me, enabling me to work in the UK/EU once my application has been accepted.
China, on the other hand, does not recognize her multi citizenship so even though she has a (lapsed) passport, her actual status as a citizen of China may not be acknowledged in that country although the US and UK do acknowledge that she is.
At least that's one hurdle down... finding an actual job in the UK/EU will be another.

Do you mean for the UK ? Is your mother British by birth ? Are you married ? If yes, yes and yes, then your husband can apply for a spouse visa and your son can apply for a dependant's visa. There are financial and accomodation criteria to be met in order to actually get these visas.

The other American requirements are that you do not swear allegiance to another country and you do not enlist/volunteer for foreign (non-American) military service.

Doesn't the Cuban government facilitate the entrance of American visitors by not stamping their passports?
The government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus used to give a stamped piece of paper to those persons for whom a stamp in their passport would have created a problem.

Yes Cuban customs know not to stamp US passport holders, however, this does not mean it is still legal for US citizens to visit Cuba. And what if you run into trouble in Cuba? You'll face fines when you return to the US.
I worked with a Canadian citizen who lived in the US. He honestly told US customs that he and his wife went to Cuba on holiday. They were fined several thousand dollars for visiting Cuba! He protested by saying he is Canadian, not American. US customs response "you both are US residents". He is fighting this with a lawyer. Not sure of the outcome.
