The term third world is a pretty outdated thing.

It is not even an economic term, its a political one.


If we are talking about economy and standard of living, then we can say tons of áreas in the US are pretty third world. I mean, no one in their right mind is going to claim Flint michigan, or Gary Indiana are first world places.


I have been to so called third world countries with áreas so rich they put rich áreas in the so called first world to shame.


Poverty is a bit more complex than simply pretending to label entire countries as third world and first world.
