Elevation 5,311 ft. at Albuquerque Sunport (airport).
Much more stable and better climate than Denver,
I like it’s location better too, with Rio Grande and Sandia Mountains right there.
You can golf and ski on the same day!
Medellin, Colombia. Elevation is 4,900 feet above sea level. Metro population 3.7 million.
Located in a valley surrounded by green jagged peaks, the city of "eternal spring" is located in the tropics but enjoys relatively mild year-round weather:
-The Average Daily High: 82 (F)
-The Average Daily Low: 63 (F)
I have not been bit I really want to check out Cusco (3400m ASL)
Cusco is more than 2 miles high. It's cool place but I prefer Machu Pichu and the Sacred Valley of Peru. I had been working at a mine at over 9000 feet so the altitude didn't bother me in Cusco but many people suffer when they first arrive if they haven't gotten adjusted to a higher elevation before arriving.
My favorite would be Arequipa, Peru where I worked for 16 months...its 2400M and 7800' elevation and the weather is near perfect every day of the year.
Are we being specific about "mile high" i.e. something between 1,400 and 1,800 metres?
In Colombia there are plenty of cities and towns over 2,000 metres and plenty under a mile also, somewhat less between 1.5k and 2k. However, here are all places with a population of 50k+ from largest to smallest that fit that criteria:
1. Medellin
2. Pereira
3. Armenia-Calarcá
4. Popayán
5. Fusagasugá
6. Santa Rosa
7. Caldas
8. Chinchiná
9. Sandoná
My favourites for completely differing reasons are Armenia and Popayan:

I had no idea Albuquerque was at altitude, interesting.
