We are considering moving to Denmark in a few years. Thanks for the positive words. We do not want to live in Sweden or Germany. We aren't yet ready for this move right now though.

We can't have that......

Since I am European I take offense at your comments.

Christianity: came to Scandinavia in the beginning of the last millenium. It's still the biggest religion in Scandivania, including Denmark.
Capitalism: the western world, including Denmark, has embraced this. Hence the growing exonomies and wealth. It's just not as intensified as in the US.
Gun ownership: not a very good idea to spread guns around like in the US, seeing what it has done there. Why create more problems else where?
Personal responsibility: like the American way of suing people constantly over nothing? Spilled hot coffee, didn't know it was hot? Sue the one who sold it. Your pants disappeared at the dry cleaners? Sue the dry cleaner. Where's the responsability?
Just because things are done differently, it doesn't mean that they are not being done. There are different ways of doing things, and there doesn't seem to be a single thing in this world that would work everywhere if done the same way.
I agree with suzie02- as a European and a Scandinavian, I take offense by that comment.

I apologise for going Off Topic: As an Australian, I've often wondered how Denmark perceived her?
There's been rumours down here, That She's Isn't liked!, That many Danish people Have trouble Adjusting, To her Aussie-Ness?
Is it true, Or is it just gossip?

Sorry, once more off-topic: I think she is shy and comes across as aloof. However, she certainly took to conspicuous consumption and fashion labels with gusto, and that's never a good look in a princess ... and her friends and relatives certainly didn't help (her cousin-in-law, a teacher, was convicted of sex with a minor, and her bridesmaid had dodgy bikie associations!). Unfortunately there has been a fair bit of real gossip fodder, partly coming about because the Royal Family fudged the account of their meeting etc (Slip Inn, chest-rubbing competition!) ... and don't forget the 'tall poppy' syndrome in Australia - of course she has to be pulled down! (Enough about Mary now!)

Well as modern and liberal as denmark is, the institution of the royal family is quite old fashioned...
I think mary is quite popular, and we in denmark do not hear as many roumors about her (Marys) past, the royal family are generally well liked, espaically by the older generation.
The younger prince Joachim is marrying (for the second time!) a french woman in May. This might take some of the "heat" of Mary

I don't care about the monarchy. the Danes are a great people who are by far far FAR more superior than most Americans.
