I´m a Dane. Our politicians are extreme right wing, they have made in difficult to get into the country in order to keep migrants out. Europeans are not slothenly, probably more concerned with the Other (meaning, the homeless guy, your neighbour, the poor woman you don´t want to look in the eyes). Just look at alll the homeless plp in US, all the plp with no insurance, no education, no future. Ghettos and crime have a lot to do with vicious cycles like not breaking poverty or equal opportunities. Christianity is what our law is based on, so to speak, and capitalism..Did you think that American reality Tv-shows and the like didn´t get here (I refuse to call it culture), all of them propaganding the Grand Narrative of one winner takes it all (Zygmunt Bauman, Liquid Fear, Von Borries) and the rest is off to exclusion (and in the end, civil or moral death). Capitalism is here. No doubt. Wish it would become more humane. Guns? What good has it done for you? Degenerated trust in each other, fuelled crime rates and gang fights, Columbine and the like...What´s your point.

I've been to Denmark a couple of times really nice country.
And at least in Denmark shop assistants are not trampled to death.

Sorry...I thought this was a thread about immigrating to Denmark, not about America's problems. My mistake if I'm wrong...Perhaps it would be a better idea to create your own thread in which to bash Americans instead of using the pretense of others' to do so?

It's funny, because I am from Britain (a fellow member of the EU along with Denmark) I think of European countries as really easy to get into (seriously, all you basically need is a passport) so I forget how difficult it is for folks who are from farther afield to get here. Makes me feel really lucky.
