Default How do I find a Host Family in Paris for 1 Wk in July?

Hi folks,

Any ideas how to find a host family in Paris? Looking specifically for July 17-23.

I have a 15 year old daughter who is studying high school French in New York and she will be spending 2 weeks with a host family in northern France in early July. (We hosted the French family's daughter for 2 weeks in October 07 so it's a reciprocal exchange.)

Since she only has 2 reciprocal weeks with this family, my daughter was hoping to spend 1 extra solid week in "Paris only" by staying with another host family with teenagers who could be part of my daughter's language immersion. My daughter is also a great babysitter and has experience with toddlers age 18 months and up. We would reciprocate as well, of course with immersion in English for a teenager.

Suggestions, anyone?

You might want to ask your French exchange family if they have any friends/family interested in Paris. I suspect that they will. Alternatively, you could ask the organization which arranged for the exchange if they have any Paris-based families you could contact. It's a valid request, and an excellent opportunity for your daughter, but you're going to want to keep this situation accountable and honest, and that's best done through people you know and trust. For your daughter's sake, I'd suggest keeping this at the cultural exchange level, and forego the childcare route: she doesn't want to be stuck in Paris baby-minding!
