Chengdu can attract migrants from other parts of China like the more famous coastal Chinese cities.

Oh god, it must be such an ugly place to live!!!

Talk about a perfect setting for a city! Those mountains in Sichuan put anything in North America to shame.

China’s cities are generally very large in size, similar to US metro areas in size and population.

Chengdu is now the 3rd-largest Chinese city (unless you count Chongqing, which isn’t really a city, because it’s size is 80.000 km2 or the size of Austria or South Carolina !).
Chengdu is developing rapidly
It is generally believed that the third largest city in China may be Guangzhou or Shenzhen There are 19 cities with a population of more than 10 million Anyway, a city with a population of 3 million in China is a small city In fact, I prefer the countryside in southern China Actually, I don't like big cities Too many people, too many cars Big cities are just easier to make money More job opportunities Houses are expensive in big cities You can buy seven houses in the countryside for the same area

Isn't China actively trying to push development and people into the smaller cities and out of the big cities? Banning sky scrapers, connecting secondary cities by high speed rail, actively pushing development of industry in smaller centers... I think most people are on the same page, urbanity is good in small chunks, mega cities become quickly unweildy. I have the same opinion about big cities in the US

This is too large of an area for a single city. It sounds more like it’s a swarm of metro areas centered in Chengdu that happens to be under a single administrative division.

Now the building can't exceed 500 meters The planned height of Wuhan green space center is 634m It's only 475 meters now But from my observation, the rural population is less and less now Basically, young people go to big cities for development In China, the rich may have more money than the Europeans Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi 33% of the buyers come from China
