U.K. Is a island separated from the European continent so why is included in Europe and not Turkey we are not in Europe anymore I mean the Eu Turkey even wants to join the eu.
I believe Turkey is not considered a part of Europe because it is a majority Muslim state. I also think that ill feelings prevail when Turkey was the center of the Ottoman Empire which destroyed Christianity through violence. First the Premier Christian city of the East (Constantinople) then attempted the in much of Eastern Europe.

I think in many circles residual historical resentments prevail.

Turkey being regarded as European because a small part of its territory is located in Europe would be like saying that England is an Austral country because it has the Falklands islands, France is a South American country because it owns french Guyana, or that Portugal is a North American country because of the Azores. This is just regarding geography. Culturally, Turkey is a Middle-Eastern country .

Why do most think that Turkey is not part of Europe?

Because they are correct.

Well, Turkey participates in the Eurovision, so they must be part of Europe, right? But then again, so does Israel… and Australia.

Given that Moscow is east of Istanbul, and most of Turkey is west of the Caucuses, there's at least a geographic case for including Turkey in Europe. I agree with the earlier comment by BNW that Erdogan is a piece of work.......
All of Georgia is east of most of Turkey.............

And Georgia isn’t in Europe. If it weren’t for Christianity, very few people would argue that Armenia and Georgia are European at all.
