I lived and worked in Peru for almost 2 years and love the country and its people. When peaceful, the country thrives but they seem to have these frequent political disruptions that hurt investment and growth. I don't think a solution will be easy this time.

Here's to a peaceful and thriving Peru.

I was there is September and they were having some kind of massive workers strike in Lima that shut down everything around the Plaza de Aramas. Soldiers and police everywhere manning barricades.

Political protest is a way of life in Peru but their protests when I was there were more peaceful than our "mostly peaceful" protests in the summer of 2020. My Peruvian Facebook friends all seem to be a bit nervous but taking things in stride so far.
