Yes, no Chicago sadly. It would have been a great site.

Much of the world hates America and the Atlanta olympics weren't great. I felt the chances of success were slim. Maybe in a few years. Its Rio for me.

Politics aside. How you derive "word hate the US" from Chicago's failed bid is lost on me. The US hosted two summer Olympics and two winter Olympics over the past 30 years. There are over 200 countries in the world for crying out loud, the US got more than its fair share of Olympics, much more, seriously, what more do you want? There has never been an Olympics in South America, a whole continent, if only for the sake of fairness, Rio should get it this time.
