I would say the left.........By the way, I do agree that having that radical Van Jones, which according to him, he said that given the opportunity he would do what Chavez's did in Venezuela, in a government position in Washington says a lot about the direction that Washington is taking.

Here in the USA we have a system that reminds me of a big awkward drunk wobbling down the road. He wanders to the right, then wanders over to the left. In a clumsy manner we eventually make our way down the road bouncing left and right along the way. The current recession didn't affect my state much at all but then again you can't lose jobs you never had ! The rapid shift to the left that our country has taken will eventually be reversed in due time.

At least you stay on the road quite well so far. Take care not to cross the curb... either way.

I think Obama just made us jump the curb on the left (wrong) side of the road.

Chavez is promoting green jobs? lol I think you have Van Jones confused with someone else (perhaps you watched Glenn Beck's rant about Mark Lloyd?).

This is a very good analogy. I've noticed that conservatives always think the US is headed for socialism and liberals always think we're heading for fascism. We're not even close to jumping the curb on the left. Just ask Cuba or North Korea. Maybe it just seems that way after the Bush years.

It goes beyond green jobs, and nope.....I'm not confusing Van Jones with whoever you're talking about.

Well here's a few problems we have:
- An aging population, these people vote, and usually they vote "the same party we have voted since the 70's", but it's not the 70's anymore. This is also going to be a problem for the dependency ratio.
- A rather "stagnant" mindest in the society. Many kind of reforms and overhauls would be more or less urgently needed, especially in education, work & taxation sectors. Everybody complains, but really nothing gets done, or it happens really slow. I wish the people here would think more like "We should do it our way" instead of "We should do it like they do it in the rest of Europe"
- Immigration and "multiculturalism". I have absolutely nothing against people moving here for a job and atleast trying to respect our way of life if they are from a very different kind of culture. I wish atleast half of the people coming here right now would be like that.
- But i really think we have a good energy policy for the future. New nuclear-, and hydropower.
- I also very much enjoy the rather low crime, and hope it will stay like this in the future.
- I really, really wish more Estonian girls would move to my town. I just love em.
