Move here to the States, particularly here in South Carolina, plenty of Europeans as BMW and Michillein are hq'd here in Greenville, but being conservative you get to keep most of your income and are rewarded and praised for working hard and reaping the rewards not loathed. As a 1st generation American (dad's from Greece) my pops goes back to Greece twice a year and he said it's gotten so socialist people are going nuts. My aunt said that the monthly salary is about $1400/month but people spend twice that a month on living expenses, simple economics tells us that pretty soon that the fictitious economy will collapse like a house of cards that it is; either that our it will become a Muslim continent first. Europe is doomed unless they wake up!

Well Caseras let me tell you about that you pay MUCH lower taxes for a simple reason.. FREEDOM, the goverment trusts you to save up for the day your kids will go to college/university whatever and if you didn't? Tough luck.. That would be your own fault and your kid and you will suffer because you absolutely wanted the biggest houses and biggest cars... No offence but the system works if people stick to it. Save up get a degree and send the next person to school, that person will then get a degree and keep the cycle alive.
I have been in the US many times for longer periods and It's not as bad as people make it out to be, If they fail within the system it's because they didn't work hard enough or made bad choices.. That's just life either you succed for you fail.. In a socialist system everyone fails but they are brainwashed to believe and they are actually living well, that's why you see people in Denmark absolutely refuse any negativity about the system, tell them the food quality in England is better.. nono they won't have it.. It just can't be true, tell them people pay less taxes in other socialist countries whille maintaining a better living than Denmark.. They just say nonono it can't be.. How can that be possible? we pay the highest taxes.
This is where you tell them that they are being screwed by the most ultra socialist system in the world and they will probably call you a a race traitor or unpatriotic... COMPLETELY NUTS!! talk about collective indoctrination..
In Europe, they tax the hell out of you because they don't trust you so they force their socialist views on you and leave you with a mediocre school and health system... Hell if I wanted I could switch to a private institution somewhere else but why do that when my parents have already been forced to shell out over 2,5-3 million dollars the last 22 years they have been working here?
Theres alot you can buy for a couple of million even in a socialists hellhole.

NSK:
If Denmark needs to reform itself, then get to work. Stop complaining and start organizing.
As a Yank, we have gone too far the other way and are now realizing that we have put ourselves under the yoke of corporatists, militarists, and ignorant fundamentalists. Whether or not Obama succeeds, we have a long-term generational struggle to get our country aligned to our true cultural standards. You have a similar struggle ahead of you, too.

Well isn't this an amusing thread. Imagine comparing the merits of a small, homogenous country in Europe with the huge conglomeration that is the US.
I have been to Denmark. I liked it. I liked it very much. Great place, great people. No doubt. By most measures, its a succesfull country. Prosperous, wealthy and obviously a good standard of living.
Is it perfect? How could it be? Sure, free college education. That's nice. Makes one wonder why you still see Danes working as trash pickers on the street. Free medical care. That's nice as well, although I cannot believe there are not massive problems with such an enterprise.
But if the Danes are happy with their system, well then that is that. I doubt they have much desire to be like America. I sure do not want to be Danish (my ancestors got out of there, so why reverse history?).
This endless comparison of Western nations is actually quite absurd. Why doesn't anyone compare Denmark to Libya, Burma or El Salvador? Comparing Denmark to the USA is like comparing Beverly Hills to the Upper East Side. If Denmark has some secret of success that America is missing, well, share it with Iran. They need it more than we.
Denmark is great. Skol!!!! Christiana....<puff, puff>

No offence but christiania is just an anarchist stronghold and it sucks ass.. A thorn of society, people like that are the reason socialists are running this forsaken show.

Yea but I had to admire the audacity of it all. And the Hash was mighty sweet...

Wow, I'm blown away. A DANE speaking KINDLY about SWEDEN. Awesome, I never saw this day coming!
I have family living in Denmark, who seem to be very happy there. There are faults with all countries, and even "the best" (i.e. most well off) won't suit everyone.
But if you want to get away from taxes, don't come to Sweden. Denmark just recently became the country in the world with the highest taxes - we held that position before Still number 2. (Maybe you get more for the taxes paid here, though...)
And you have to pay taxes for cars here too. But you pay far less for the "eco-friendly" cars, though. But, hey, nevertheless, Sweden is great!
No country is perfect, since people always have different points of views and priorities.
I like nice people. England, here I come!
