Finland is well known to acccept very few immigrants. Sweden is definitely more multi-cultural.

I am fluent in both Afrikaans and English with some basic German and have an aptitude in learning foreign languages.
And also how is Switzerland for people of colour??
Thanx alot and hope to recieve some advice.

alo...ok...i'm not going to be a telemarketer or pretty things up. Please, i'm not badmouthing anyone or anything here, i'm just gonna be straight with you as a fellow southern african who has/had a desire to see the rest of the world and broaden their horizons a bit.
if you can stay in nam then do so. before you think i'm being a xenophobe now that i've moved, i'm a south african of colour. i moved here (britain) about 3 yrs back with my partner who is irish. the immigration process is a complete b*llache and the general feedback that you get during the process is insulting and degrading. Let me put it to you another way, if we treated europeans the same way in africa, there'd be a hell of a fuss we'd never hear the end of.
THEN, there's the social climate. you need to get out of your head any ideas of making friends easily coz its not the same as we are used to in southern africa.
The news is very difficult to get used to in europe generally as well. its not as factual as we're used to receiving in southern africa. the news/interpretation of the news is VERY dependant on WHICH newspaper you choose to read. Some are unashamedly party biased.
Having travelled some parts of europe, i'd say some of the nicest places i've been to have been denmark; germany; sweden and iceland. I wasnt made to feel like an outsider and I found those cultures quite welcoming though not welcoming by southern african standards by any stretch of the imagination. Again, i'm not badmouthing. i'm sure those cultures can be very warm provided you uhm, find yourself a good circle of people tho my point is its not as easy as it may happen in southern africa. if you go to those countries you at least will still have the desire to see and experience other cultures without being stung by the prejudice of open and undiluted xenophobia that you may find in britain for example. I was quite confused when i received it initially, based on the fact that i didn't want to break any laws, be illegal or conduct myself in anyway in contravention to UK laws. It seems however, that just being foreign is all it takes. Muslims and immigrants are the new Jews.
Sorry. this has not been what you want to hear, but at least i'm not 'marketing' things for you....just telling you what i've experienced in my +- 3 years here.
In case you ask why it is we dont just up and move back to south africa, i left a)because like you, i just had a bit of curiousity and wanted to see how different our 3rd world is from their 1st world and b)i was getting REALLY REALLY REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY tired of the white south african attitude of general superiority. to be honest, i feel as if i traded one prejudice for another, in SA i wasn't good enough coz i'm coloured, and in UK i'm not good enough coz i'm neither EU nor British.

Whatever you do avoid spain, they will most likely tend to look at you as cheap labor because apparently alot of people from the north of africa work on mushroom farms and cafés in spain.
I would probably go to the netherlands, germany or maybe, finland, norway.

wow...how very blunt yet truthful. has this been your experience? where in the EU are you living, i assume it to be DK.

For folks interested in relocating to Europe, there are a few internet forums that may interest you. Have a look at EasyExpat and Expatica online. Just do a google to find them. I tried to post the links, but gobbledegook came up here. Best of luck to you all.

Europe, the factory of white people...
Try the most developed nations in Europe...Germany, Finland, Sweden, or Norway for example. You would be considered a novelty.
Avoid the Mediterranean countries (Italy, Spain,...). Italians even hate each other (South and North), and Spaniards are very racist towards people of colour.
Good luck.

I've heard Spain is not a very "color friendly" country. But is it true that Eastern Europeans are the same?

Italy and Spain are worst which is a little funny as many of them are indistinguishable from North Africans to the casual observer.
---------------
Really, have you ever been to Spain?
We can spot them like flies in buttermilk, more so if they wear the veil thing and treat their women like dirt.
Problem with North Africans is their attitude.
They think all westeners are degenerates for eating pork and their women are whores.
It's not color, it's having medieval people living in the city.

I see those novelties EVERY day. Yet, somehow, they're still novelties? How does that work?
Anyone who thinks people of colour are "novelties" in most European countries really need to pay a visit.
Heard of the Iraq- war? The war in Sudan? Somalia? Vietnam? Chile? etc. etc.
Hint: the US hasn't taken in many of the refugees - especially not compared to many European countries. Södertälje, a little suburb to Stockholm, Sweden has taken in more Iraqi- refugees than all of the US.
And if only black people are considered "non-white", then the US isn't much more heterogenous than the rest of the world
Don't want to sound negative, but I think you're chances, dali_wami, are rather slim. I hope you the best, but getting into the EU without any higher education is hard. The EU has pretty much made the laws regarding immigration the same in every member country, because migration between the member countries are free, and thus getting in from outside a EU-country is difficult.
Switzerland have a reputation to be very strict when it comes to immigration, so I belive you will have it easier in any other country (not Iceland nor Norway, though - they're pretty much only open to citizens of Denmark, Sweden and Finland as we're part of the Nordic Union), especially since Switzerland (as well as Iceland and Norway) is(/are) not member(s) of the EU.
I know, they're not members, so they should be easier to migrate to. But, I guess it's because they COULD become members but have chosen not to, that one reason they have the stricter regulations.
Maybe you could try to get a study-VISA to maybe Germany? Study german and "flight attending" (sorry, don't know what to study to become one ) maybe?
I hope you find a way
