Default Can I Get an Italian Passport?

My grandparents were Italian on my mother's side. She is American-born, they were born in Italy. My grandfather came to America as an adult w/ his under 18 fiance, they wed here in America and became naturalized. A website said that if an Italian child (under 18) is naturalized in another country, they cannot pass on ancestral rights to their progeny. As my grandfather was an adult when he became naturalized here, can I get an Italian passport and permanent residency?

If they were naturalised, and required to renounce their italian citizenship as part of the naturalisation process, then you cannot claim Italian citizenship as the chain is broken.

Knowing Italy as I do, perhaps a bribe, no I mean a generous honorarium to the right officials could help smooth things.

if your grandparents gave birth to your parent before becoming naturalized american citizens, then you can qualify...but not if they were american citizens prior to your parents birth

Go to the closest Italian embassy and speak with an immigration officer.

Are you under 18? Is your mom italian? If not, I'm pretty sure there's no way.
