The women are thin and tanned, and everyone wears skimpy bathing suits. I think I've heard the gov't is corrupt and you can easily disappear from there and never be heard from again.

Southern Brazil, south of Sao Paulo, is very conservative and eceonimcally well-developed, just like Argentina and Chile. With a temperate climate, so not so many tanned girls in skimpy bikinis. The government is about average corrupt for a developing country. Nobody disasppears unless they are politically inconvenient. It's a nice country---the Brazilians are OK. I like big countries better than small ones---the people don't have such an inferiority complex.

Brazil is the country with proportionally the highest population of blacks in the Americas, but at the same time there's a strong, well established, and rather subtle color caste system.
In spite of that Brazil has a whole bunch of positive characteristics.  |
