Any expats living in Honduras? I am a former Missionary kid, and teacher who lived in Honduras and still have family there. I love it there and wondered what others thought of it and where they lived.

I lived in la Ceiba, La Esperanza, San Juan P., and Danli

Stayed 10 days in Roatan, in some place that had bungalow things over the water...can't think of the name right now. I heard that they were rebuilding and that it was going to be a big improvement. As I understand, the place had been built/grew on a shoestring budget, but I am guessing the insurance company paid on cost to rebuild.

Would love to go again, but the wife is a little more into 'amenities' and we also have a new young 'un....maybe in a few years....

Edit: Found it...Anthony's Key Resort.

Elmira is on a distinguished road
lived in La Ceiba for 3 years, loved it, loved the beach, the food, the fresh fruits. I will visit next year again during carnival or easter week.

Lived in La Ceiba for a year and Roatan for a year. Pretty good weather and great people. Could no longer stand the "no se ems" sand flies in Roatan, so left.
