Default studying in france

hey guys.

i couldn't find another thread about this matter so i've started one. if there's a problem i'm really sorry, i'm new here.

so... i'm 18 and graduating from highschool in june. and i really want to go to a university in france but i don't know what to choose. i found the american university of paris, which is really great, but has a very big tuition cost that i can't really afford. and then i found some great univ but they asked for a language certificate in french, which i don't speak. i have taken the sat, fce and toefl exam. i also looked for public universities but found nothing. i'm desperate! is anyone here from france that could help me with this??

thanks!

If you don't speak French, and you're not going to attend the American University, how are you planning to do your studies?

Hey Whoa-oh! How did you decide to study in France? Are you a French major? Are you planning to study abroad for one year or would you actually like to get a French degree? I actually was an exchange student to France two years ago and lived with a wonderful family in Saumur (in the Loire Valley) for five months. While I was going to a local high school there the teachers weren't very accepting of people who don't know French and they didn't make any special exceptions in my case. They didn't even have a class for students whose first language is not French...I assume it would be the same for universities. How much French do you know? A lot of America colleges have study abroad programs where one can study for a semester or a year at a French univeristy but have classes in English. Personally, for my senior year of college I hope to study at L'Université Paul Cézanne, which is a renowned university for foreign students who are learning French (beginniner to advanced levels). I'm a French major, by the way. :P
