Even dorky American guys can do well with Swedish women because they tend to be louder and take up more space. Americans are also used to compete more from early childhood and are less modest. That’s positive. Don’t act too cocky though. You don’t need to say you’re Canadian. But as an American, it helps if you show intelligence - blame Bush. Swedes watch American TV shows which can give the wrong impression of USA. Swedes travel a lot and most intelligent individuals will know the difference between fact and fiction.
"dorky American guys" wow, why don't you just label an entire demographic. Thanks a lot! I do not fit your stereotype in anyway shape or form. I am not loud or take up "more space." I do agree with you on slavic women. Perhaps some of the most beautiful women in the world-in my humble opinion.

Chill. You misunderstood. I meant American guys who are dorky. It was only an example how easy it's for Americans. Generally speaking, Swedes are positive towards Americans.
It's nothing bad to take up more space than the average Swedish guy. I've spoken to many Swedish girls who are tired of men who don't show their intentions.
I had to generalize. There are always exceptions.
It's a difficult dilemma if you don't stick out. On the one hand I think it's good to be slightly different. On the other the Jante mentality is very conformist.
Can't stand Denmark, like Norway, am biased to Finland, have never been to Iceland and live in Sweden.
Guess my pick
Seriously, why is it so difficult to accept that the ONLY Scandinavian countries are Norway, Sweden and Denmark?
Finland and Iceland are NORDIC countries.
Please, trust us people who live here. We do actually know the basics of our surrounding geography.
Yes, Iceland and Finland have historical ties to us Scandinavian, but so does Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Russia and many more. But that doesn't make them Scandinavian. Scandinavian was originally a geographical term, refering to the peninsula. And then it included Denmark.
Isn't this the third thread btw where we discuss this?
Btw, us Swedish gals aren't as "outgoing" as we have a reputation to be, nor have we ever been. Please, this reputation must stop, it is kind of embarrassing to have to explain this to foreign guys full of testosteron...

Iceland is the most beautiful country I've ever been to, and the most unique. The people, also, are surprisingly friendly for a Nordic country (or for any country), but they participate in the charming Scandinavian discretion. The quality of life, BCC (before current crisis lol), was incredible. This said, Norway's beauty nearly matches Iceland's. People are less obviously friendly, but they're so polite and helpful when needed that who cares. There's more diversity regarding nature and has more than one city (ie: Reykjavik in Iceland) where culture is abundant. It's my second favourite country of all. Sweden's people are wonderful, Denmark is good fun and Finland is a great transition to the East, in terms of culture, architecture and scenery. They're all beautiful places but my heart is with Iceland and Norway.
Sweden is a fat kid whose father gives him chocolates. Mama's little darling.
Denmark went to boarding school in Germany. Has a nice boat and collects stamps.
Norway built a cabin in the woods. Hides numerous bottles of alkohol up in the loft. Skis to the shops.
I voted for Norway.
