It depends on the price range and the weather you want. I lived in CR for ten years and still have a brother living there.
Prices are not cheap. The west coast is generally dry and hot. The east coast is hot and humid and mostly rasta types.
The central valley has perfect weather, never hot, never cold. Some nice places in the central valley would be Escazu or Allejuella.
If you have some specific question either post them of PM me/
Greg

I wanted to go for a trip to CR but I've heard there is increased insecurity in the country : is it true or just an "urban legend"?

Increased insecurity in CR???
Not at all. I live in Prague and I can tell you that it's one of the safest places. Pick-pocketing is the only issue in heavily touristy areas but if you take care of you personal belongings, you will be just fine. Crime rate and violence is almost 0% (which is quite surprising).

Not accurate. Explain why armed guards are in the banks, car dealerships, movie theatres and even Burger King. I lived there six years are your post is not correct.

If you live in Prague, shreypete, maybe you don't have the best knowledge of what CR is like!

Perhaps the member is confusing the CR designation as meaning Czech Republic rather than the intended Costa Rica?
