Default Match an American city with an Asian city.

I thought of these. Feel free to add some more. I like these threads

Chicago,IL - Beijing,China(major transportation hubs as far as rail and air and concerned and both have very cold winters and hot summers.)

New Orleans,LA - Shanghai,China (both cities are at the ends of their respective rivers, have similar climates, were once known as cities of vices, and both are ports.)

San Diego,CA - Limassol, Cyprus(dry Mediterranean climates, port cities, military base influence, tourism)

Houston,TX - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia(major ports with petroleum industries and diverse in their own ways).

Silicon Valley,CA - Bangalore,India (both places specialize in the computer industry)

Atlanta, GA - Chengdu,China(mild, humid climates, both cities are located in hilly regions, both cities are landlocked.)

Possible.

Milwaukee,WI - Qingdao, China( port cities with cold, snowy winters. Both cities produces famous beers for their respective nations. Milwaukee has Miller, Qingdao has Tsingtao. Both cities have some German influence. Qingdao was once a German colony. Milwaukee was settled by Germans in large numbers.)

St. Paul,MN - Harbin, China( Both cities are among the coldest in their respective nations as far as climate goes and they celebrate it. Harbin has the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival. St. Paul has the Winter Carnival. Both cities have older European style architecture which are quite beautiful. Harbin wasn't nicknamed Oriental Moscow and Oriental Paris for nothing. Both cities have their cathedrals. Harbin has St. Sofia. St. Paul has the Cathedral of the city's namesake. Both cities are river cities.)

Los Angeles, CA and Bangkok, Thailand - Both are smoggy heavily congested cities with some of the worst traffic in the world. They are also hub of entertainment and influence for their countries. You'll find those who have huge houses with many maids and you'll also find those who are struggling selling their wares/food on the sidewalk. They are also cities where those who do not live there, hope to one day live there as part of their dream.

SF and HK, LA and Singapore, I'll give you that. ATL and Seoul, well anything except for climate. Seoul gets very cold in winter and snows alot. Atlanta has mild winters and only gets about a dusting of snow per year(maybe one inch) and Atlanta.

How about these:

Atlanta,GA and Hiroshima,Japan: These are cities that have seen hard times. Both cities were destroyed in their respective wars(Atlanta:Civil War, Hiroshima:WWII). Both cities rebuilt themselves and became economic powerhouses in their respective regions(Atlanta:GA,most of the South, Hiroshima:Chugoku-Shikoku region)

Flat Rock,MI and Hofu,Japan. Both cities are home to a Mazda factory.
