I didnt vote. Maybe it should be between two countries.
Comparing immigration to a country and a continent is different.

worse is a function of cash. if the country has money it can absorb problems.

If by worse you mean necessary for getting the smartest and hardest working people in the world to maintain economic dominance, hmmm, guess the US. If by worse you mean extracts money out of all the immigrants attending its universities, I guess Europe might win that one. If by worse you mean enrich the culture and enliven the society providing a variety of POVs, I dunno. Each country might be different on that one.

Europe is way too diverse to give you a simple answer...you shouldn't forget that Europe has the size of the US but consists of various different nations (Greece, Germany, Italy, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Fance, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands,..........and many many more) with each of them having their own politics.

What's so funny is how many years I've had to hear my European friends say bad things about how we're anti-immigration here (mostly referring to illegals from south of the border)...and to now watch them about-face and start snarling about their own problems with the same thing! LOL!

From everything I have read, it's worse in Europe and here is why:

1) In the US, we tend to absorb our immigrants and they and definitely their kids become Americans. The Europeans rather isolate them and it's almost a country within a country type set-up. There are some angry jobless youth that grew up in say...France, don't consider themselves French as much as with their native country.

2) Social welfare is much more prevalent in Europe. Immigrants in the US tend to come in, bust their butts working and build a better life...instead of sitting around on govt. assistance.

3) Europe is less open about racism and definitely has more class boundaries. ie) You don't get Colin Powells, Barack Obama's, Bill Clintons (poorer or middle class at best) rising to the heights of power in places like say England.

This is NOT a dig against Europe, they do some things a lot better than the US but as far as upward mobility, opportunity and absorbing immigrants into their culture it's not really close.

Just like when you go to the United States and find HUGELY different attitudes and lifestyles when you go from say...Idaho to Florida to Maine to Alaska.
