I thought about moving to Fiji, but they seem to come to the brink of civil war every few years, just a few years back rioters burned much of the capitol. Phillipines?- terrorists. Vanuatu? -earthquakes very common. French polynesia?- native people abused by Frech nationals. New Caledonia, Solomons?- earthquakes & volcanoes. Micronesia?- sinking. Also, many of these places have no infrastructure if you enjoy luxuries like electricity and phones.

Ditto. Well, I would kiss the tarmac, but your friendly customs guys get wind of these things, and I'd like to be able to return!
If I couldn't live in the U.S, maybe Italy..specifically Venice. Yes, I know it's sinking, but I don't see it going completely under in my lifetime.
But I'd really take the U.S first.

Where are you from?
I'm from Paris, Scottlass , but "hush & hark" as the poet say, I don't like to trumpet it all over unlike some of my fellow citizens....

I am from New York...seems from some of the responses, those of you from Europe would love to live in the U.S.A.....and many from the U.S.A. would like to live elsewhere. I am tired of cold dreary grey days, boring towns and people that aren't so friendly - all materialistic, greedy, rude. I know Fiji is supposed to have the friendliest people on the planet, which is very appealing. Just wish I could speak to real people who have (or are) living there.....

Im from "Oddstralia". I love the variations of the American countryside, the accents....I've banged on about this on other forums enough. To circumvent visa hassles, we'd like to at least be able to stay in the U.S for the full 3 months our tourist visa allows, then stay on our property here (see profile pic), THEN head back to the U.S.

But er, y'know....there's this technicality of earning an income. What a b**ch.

I love where I live now, but my other choice would be Hawaii. Maui, specifically.

Hawaii is stunning, love Kauai - but all the islands are so overpriced, real estate is sky high - unless you're a multi-millionaire, its impossible to afford to live there.....
So thinking on the tropical line, I headed further out west on to some of the choices on the poll....
If anyone has any advice on the immigration issues with Australia that would be helpful, I hear one million people a year apply to immigrate there, but only 110,000 are accepted !!!! So any advice is appreciated.
