If anyone has any advice on the immigration issues with Australia that would be helpful, I hear one million people a year apply to immigrate there, but only 110,000 are accepted !!!! So any advice is appreciated.

If immigration was easier I would live in New Zealand. Beautiful, low low crime and affordable.
Then again I guess tough immigration laws keep out whoever they are trying to keep out.
Other countries might want to pay attention.

I'm from NZ - not to nitpick here...you're right on the first point but not the other two. NZ is very expensive and has a high violent crime rate. It's a pretty decent place to live but it's not paradise.

It's lucky for the rest of the world that people with such attitudes stay in the US then...

AGREED !!! Just because you are born somewhere and carry a passport of that country, doesn't mean one is required to stay there - nothing to do with being a traitor. I bet you wouldn't say that to someone living in the Congo who wanted to leave their country (then again, knowing how ignorant you are, I'm sure you would). This world is a huge place and has no boundaries.

If I had to leave the USA: my first choices would be either Australia or New Zealand, then Vancouver, BC Canada followed by Ireland. If South Africa/Zimbabwe were First World English speaking societies (regardless of race/ethnicity).........I would consider them as well.
