Default My Visit To the United Nations

The United Nations Headquarters is a good architecture, and it has a good international atmosphere. My parents and I visited this place when they came to New York. There were many many similar international tourists. I was very pleased to see many sections and booths devoted to China, and one of the 5 working languages of the UN is Chinese. This is a reflection of the status and influence of China on the International stage. When new China was first founded in 1949, it was considered a "Sick Man of the East" and was not even an independent country; my own city was divided into 4 different concessions, zones in the city reserved for foreign businessmen and their families, and Chinese citizens were not allowed to enter. In my own city, my own citizens were not allowed in! This was the state of China back the, a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society.

Today, since the founding of the New China in 1949, and under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and the hardwork of the Chinese people, and with the help and goodwill from the International Community, China successfully held the Olympic Games, its spacemen completed China's first spacewalk in outer space, and China's GDP will surpass Britain next year. Never in the history of China has it been in a better position, and it only took 59 years to reach this, where it took the West 150 years to do so.

I think also that today's UN is no longer a fair and just venue to resolve international issues. Strong voices and positions are occupied by "permanent security members" like USA and Britain, while third world countries are ignored and bullied. Today, it is a playground where the powerful country come together to rotationally rape the weak and small countries. China promotes a multi-polar and harmonious world, where everyone's interest is represented fairly, and there's international democracy between countries' conduct towards each other, and hegemonic foreign policy is universally rejected. This is China's international model.

Today, I am proud to be a Chinese.

And when some small countries do it to each other, they don't even need the help of the UN.

Does that include Tibet?

Without the west, there is no way China would have been able to take 59 years to do that.

Wait, it will only surpass Britain? Chinese people like me should be embarrassed about that, if that was the case. There's nothing to be proud of in having a GDP of a nation that has 20 times less population and is a lot smaller then it. Also, communism without freedom is bad, socialism is much better, like in Europe. By the way, this sounds like pure CPC (Communist Party of China) propaganda rhetoric. Also, you haven't factored in that China's inflation is shadowing it's GDP growth. And, watching Chinese schools how to teach "democracy" was funny on BBC.

Yes. I'm all for people being proud of their country, regardless of the government that happens to be in power, but let's get real!!
