According to one of those reports the best university in Spain (for 2009) is the University of Barcelona. Go figure.
I can think of worse cities to live too, although it can get quite expensive.

I studied at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Another school with a lot of international students in Madrid is the Universidad Complutense. Madrid is a FANTASTIC city in which to study abroad... friendly locals, lots of other study abroad students from the Americas and Europe, great public transportation, and a fantastic party scene. Let me know if you have any specific questions!

more questions!!
Madrid sounds like an awesome place to study. I'm glad to hear that they have a lot to offer. I know that studying abroad is going to be pricey but can you tell what i'm looking at when it comes to cost, things like tuition, cost of living, etc. Also, is English spoken often? I am currently studying spanish and would feel confident in communicating with others if i were to visit, but it was a curiousity of mine. Thanks in advance for anymore help you can offer.

By the way, University of Barcelona is no the only option. There are many other good ones, just like UAB, UPF... mine is BES La Salle, and I'm very glad with my choice!!
