I doubt if there is a "list" based on this specific amount. The US dollar is a weak currency, and will probably get weaker in the next few years based on the massive amount of debt and money printing our federal government is doing (bailouts, wars, stimulus packages, etc). That means it won't buy as much in another country as it did just a few years ago.

You would also need to add some conditions to what kind of place you would consider. There are lots of "cheap" places to live in the world, but most of them are not very "livable".

Would this be for one person living a relatively simple, frugal lifestyle? Actually one person could live on about $12K per year (after tax cash) in many places here in the US, assuming they already owned a small simple home (no house payments or rent to pay), and assuming they were covered by an inexpensive medical insurance plan.

Here are some inexpensive places in the Americas that I have been to that might come close to what you are looking for as far as cost, but still offer decent overall living conditions in some of the mid sized cities and towns:
Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina. Exclude the more expensive capital cities of these countries because they will be more expensive (except Asuncion, Paraguay which is very inexpensive).
Also exclude most coastal resort towns in Panama, Honduras or Uruguay, they will be higher priced too.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Well clearly, Europe is outta the question (you require more than $12,000 just for a month!...ok may be that's exaggerating a bit...but you get the point.)

Perhaps, some of the African countries can be an alternative....or Thailand...or Indonesia (AMAAAZING PARADISE)..........or Vietnam...and there's always the Somalian way of living the way George Lucas did lol

You may want to check this site for a list of global GDP Country Profile and Demographics: Per Capita Income

Another good place to check is Best Place to Live

Money is only a part of the equation. You can also check out other expat sites i.e. International living.

Hope this helps
