I love Aruba. You can keep the Bahamas. Yes, you need to love swimming and the lazy days - after 10 days in Aruba, you start to like TV again- but miss the water very much when you leave.

Dominican Republic. It has the most history being that it was the first discovered. Santo Domingo was the first capital of the new world. Many of the first churches, schools etc were built in the DR. Alot of history in that place. Also IMO, it is the most beautiful out of all the Caribbean islands.

St. Vincent has a lot of frightening undertows on the ocean side making it very dangerous to go in the water and most of the other islands have similar problems on ocean side. As far as I know surfers don't frequent these islands much, because the surf isn't the best.
North Eleuthera island in the Bahamas and Rum cay in the Bahamas as well. Somers Point on Rum Cay is a surf/sportfish marina. Most are there to surf or fish. The bay right there is good for the Kite(watch coral heads & gov't dock). The better breaks can be reached by boat. There is some surf on the east side of Cat Island as well.

How hard is it to find work in the Bahamas?

I'm a marketing major and I think it wouldn't be too tough to land a job at some sort of resort down there in Nassau. I'm probably dead wrong though.
