Two Single Guys go to Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Which of the following should we do:
Samba Parade
Carnival Ball
Street Party
Please note, we're 20 something heterosexuals. Thanks.

Whatever you do, please take photos. I spent a year in Paraguay and I always regretted never making it to Rio (especially during carnival).

Samba School Party or Street Party should suite both of you guys just fine. I would go for the street party since you can follow a different Samba School each day and freelance it more and not be attached to one group. Also you don't have to pay to do the street parties! Enjoy!

Just a piece of advice (of a warning if you prefer). Be careful with the garotas you'll find. Tourists are a magnet for gold-diggers. They may be very charming when you're dancing, but if you decide to go further, they might turn out to be hookers who will charge you after you have lied together. And it's better if you don't hesitate and pay. Also, some will tell you they are minors and threaten you to call the cops unless you pay them much more.
Of course, this is not the average Brazilian girl, but remember, you're a tourist and that means $$$

I love Rio but I will be going to Carnival in Recife or Bahia this year for a change of pace and to get from what I hear "The Real" carnival how it was before Rio became the corporate carnival it has turned into! We'll see .
