Default North American Union (NAU)

Seeking intelligent discussion:
I'd like to know if you're for/against the North American Union (NAU) and having the Amero rather than dollars or pesos? Be as specific as possible.

I could see a union with Canada possibly being a good thing, but not Mexico in my opinion.

Why not Mexico?? Why USA and Canada will be better than Mexico??
Why you discriminate against Mexico?? Don't you know USA is (almost)bankrupt??
I think this "union" don't will be good to Mexico.

Perhaps if you're going to discuss a North American Union, you should first outline what exactly that would entail? Hard for people to talk about things if the subject hasn't been defined.

I could see possibly a single currency with Canada since the CD is similar to the USD in worth. A single currency with Mexico wouldn't be feasible. As far as political unions I am dead set against that-especially with Mexico because I think it would harm the cultures and economies of both countries.

Well, I would say that the NAU would look similar to the EU: political, and economic. Of course, this discussion is purely academic as the governments have denied any NAU plan.

Just because they deny it doesn't mean no one is pushing for it. Check out the NAFTA superhighway.

This will be the final nail in the coffin for the American working class if it were to happen.

Well, the metaphor may be a bit exaggerated, but a furtherance of the sharp decline, yes.

The new ruling classes of globalization view the "golden age" (circa 1950s-1990s) middle classes of the US and Europe as expensive nuisances to be cut down to size economically and, most of all I would say, morally.

They're doing a pretty good job of it too, exploiting basic human weaknesses through the religion of materialism.

Good luck!
