Why do you say Berlin or Munich? What is good about those cities?

For me Munich or Heidelberg ( which is really quite small). I haven't been to Berlin since the wall fell but I am told it is now very vibrant and is still apparently one of the building sites of Europe because of its immense success at the heart of the new Europe .
I love Munich because it has the advantages of a big city but also feels much smaller. And Bavaria is my favourite part of Germany.
Frankfurt is in my humble opinion ( as someone who sadly had to live there) one of the dullest cities on earth but is apparently well loved of businessmen and men who wear suits...
Hamburg is supposed to have changed for the better being a more vibrant and exciting place culturally and architecturally. In my days it was a byword for the German porn industry, Port Prostitutes and had a rather unsavoury reputation in terms of crime and seediness. Now it seems to have picked itself up a bit but I have not lived there.

Well for a consultant and a lawyer, both Munich and Frankfurt are great options (both cities have the largest financial sector in the country).

If you're willing to hear my advice. Avoid these states: Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Brandenburg and maybe Bavaria. (Don't know what the people love there.)
For the first, it is not much to see there. In my opinion you absolutely won't miss this states of germany.
Nice places to visit are Dusseldorf, Cologne, Freiburg, Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Berlin (if you like the whereIamthing), Bonn, Hamburg.

Not much to see in Bavaria?! Did you drive thro the county with your eyes shut?! What about all the castles built by Mad King Ludwig? What about the mountains? What about the stunningly beautiful churches such as the Wieskirche? What about Munich with its city squares, the Frauenkirche, the English Garden, the Beer Halls? What about Bayreuth (you don't have to be a fan of Wagner to go look)? What about Dachau (yes the former concentration camp) or Rothenburg ob der Tauber (a medieval city that still has its original city wall) or Augsburg or Bamberg? What about Berchtesgaden or Oberammergau or Garmisch-Partenkirchen or the Chiemsee?
I'm not saying other parts of Germany aren't just as beautiful. The Black Forest is a great place to go as is Heidelberg, Berlin, cities in Westfalia such as Münster, but don't write off Bavaria!
