Africans should learn from the Europeans and become explorers. They should move to Europe because that is where the loot is.

My guess would be that if Africans somehow managed to find ships worthy to make an Atlantic voyage, and they decided to sail to France or the United Kingdom, they'd wind up in Argentina, Australia, Indonesia, or the South Pole.

I certainly don't support Mugabe and his ilk, and they don't make anything better for their people, but his madness is rooted in a cause-and-effect.
I don't know what will become of Africa, it is their continent, they have the right to ruin it if they wish. Would American countries let Africans tell them how to run their continent and what to do?
Crapping into one's own resources is also widespread in India, actually anywhere where there is great poverty.
I know there are a lot of poor people out there, say in West Virginia or Kentucky... I would imagine that they use this rather quaint concept called the outhouse, as opposed to crapping in a stream or simply relieving yourself in your frontyard.
Some people are meant to be landless because they have no idea how to utilize the land for the benefit of the nation.
Better that uneducated peasants be landless sharecroppers than that they be given ownership of the most productive land. Society can survive land inequality so long as the land is in the hands of people who are productive. Society cannot survive land being in the hands of those who don't use it. Mugabe's party officials simply kick back and relax on massive estates that used to be productive commercial farms.
African farmers only know how to engage in subsistence farming, they lack the skills, knowledge, discipline, and expertise for commercial farming.
As somebody once put it, when the Africans have a year of plenty, they party and eat all they can, when they have a year of hardship they starve. They don't have the discipline to sustain farming beyond that which they need for the immediate day. They don't consider that they have to grow and store food for potentially months down the road. They don't think that far ahead.

And you know what, even I believe in subsistence farming, I am against commercial farming. The latter has already ruined the traditional Indian agriculture, made farmers dependent on external seeds, fertilizers etc. Now they are struggling to undo the harm done by commercial farming.

If you live in a city you're support commercial farming, unless you grow all of your own food in a rooftop greenhouse or on your balcony.

Portugal is unfortunately making the same mistake, giving up its old tradition of subsistence agriculture and importing the mass-produced crap from all over the world instead.
But I lived in Spain before and in that region people basically did not spend any money on food. They grew everything themselves. That also binds population to the rural areas, instead of making them head for the cities and become modern-day slaves in factories.

So, why would Africans in the past leave their giant continent in the first place? They have everything there. And nowadays you can bet they know how to use a compass. There is already a kind of struggle between countries on both sides of the Mediterranean as Africans are increasing their efforts to get to Europe.
