I liked Dominica for the beauty of nature, and forests, and seeing the rainbow, also Ireland!

People forget that the United States is more than just the continental part.It has territories in the extreme north and in the South Pacific. These are some of those areas.
To Leaana,I beg to differ, their are just as many fascinating places in the U.S.that do match (or exceed)the beauty of Malaysia.Like American Samoa.

Hammerguy is on a distinguished road
I vote for Lebanon in the Middle East ...
One of the rare countries where u have the mountains
close to the sea in a way that one can do some skiing in
the spring and spend some time at the sea in the same time.
It's quite lovely there.

no one else does this!!! even if another country had some landscape or weather that could be construed as similar to some place in america like duh, we have beaches and tropical weather, they sure as hell don't go so far as a moronic statement like "well, once you've seen one then you've seen them all!!! why go anywhere else?! wth, there's the sun(point finger) and the beach!"
You forget the various territories too...

There are lots of different cultures in the U.S., in those territories, the cultures of the various Natives where they live there and in the 50 states. We have lots of different mountains: from the Rockies to the Green Mountains to the Alaska Range and the Brooks Range...I know full well mountains are different, I've climbed up several...

But I think you missed the point, which is, I'd prefer the variety we have to most other countries. The tropics and tropical jungles and such hot/warm climates are a nice place to visit but I'd hate to be stuck living there without moving to another country. I like the fact a person could in the U.S. be in the Arctic one day, the tropics the next, and the next day be in Northern New England or the Southwestern deserts, without ever leaving the country. Now it is true that in Europe one can easily travel around the various countries there to experience the variety throughout Europe. Russia has a variety too but, well, they do have some issues with infrastructure, etc.

I don't like cities and would avoid them wherever I go for the most part (just a few exceptions).

You could be right I have never been to either. But is it not an opinion?Does not have to be an informed opinion.Im just saying based on what interest me.I have met some people from Samoa and they have a fascinating culture.Malaysia is a beautiful and wonderful country but based on the little I know about both countries,I pick American Samoa.Am I still an awful American?LOL.People's opinion change all the time based on life experiences.

i don't understand why americans constantly have to subtly downgrade or discredit the possibility that other countries may have something beautiful that is different or more beautiful. it always has to belong or owned by america in some way too, otherwise it's not acceptable. you just are asking for the backlash from the arrogance.
You're incredibly myopic. There are message boards in other languages (I frequent a few in Mandarin and a few in French). If you want to talk about jingoism, America is probably going to rank in the middle. The sentiment you're looking for is a lot more common on mainstream Chinese message boards than on an English-speaking one geared towards Americans.

Also, his main point was environmental, geographic, and topographical diversity. This is something that the U.S does actually have in spades given its vast size, and discontinuous boundaries abutting three different oceans as well as the largest complex of freshwater lakes in the world. Take a look at this map (though it is a rough generalization):

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...teMapWorld.png

Do you see how there are many different climate zones within the U.S. and more so than within the boundaries of any other country? That's directly correlated to diversity of landscapes--now if someone's prizing diversity of landscapes above other factors, then yes, the U.S. is going to come out on top. If that's his criteria, then he's perfectly entitled to it (as encouraged by the OP).

He stated his opinion in a non-volatile way that was anything but denigrating. You, on the other hand, seem incredibly prejudiced and arrogant. I can only hope you're barren and too crazy for adoption agencies--the last thing I would want is for people like you to propagate.

On topic: probably Argentina. I find almost facet of Argentina and Argentinians beautiful (well, except for maybe their HUGE egos when it comes to other latin americans).
