I think you need to calm down. I don't hate NYC, if I did, I would say so, I really don't care what people here think and I try to be as open about how I feel about a place as possible, I actually like the city a lot, but it isn't my favorite, or even second, or third or fourth.
I don't like the buildings in New York City, I don't really understand why that's so hard for you to swallow, not everyone has to like your city the best, and I sure as hell don't.
Grow out of your "NYC is the best and you have to like it" mentality. I like it, but you're just overdoing it, my skyline favorite in USA is Chicago. Why? I like the modern buildings being all over the place over traditional buildings, I like the taller atmosphere, that's also why I like Dubai, and Hong Kong because of the tall modern looking buildings. I don't like New York City because of that very reason, plus having more buildings doesn't cut it for me, I like a city where I can enjoy it's buildings off my taste not a city that I can brag like some idiot that my skyline is the biggest.

Actually I didn't think I had to be from NY to appreciate their architecture. I stand by my opinion. I don't like Miami's architecture. In fact, I think it sucks. Most of their skyscrapers look the same. Very condo'ish/ Latin American....Just not my thing. But I guess I am just hating, since you say so. Yet, I seem to give reasons for all my opinions. KONY, I know New York City has a lot of modern buildings, I even know it's skyline is adding quite a lot of modern buildings. But which do you think clearly exemplifies modern buildings more?

Yeah I know New York City has some of the best modern and post modern things planned/under construction but does it's overall skyline look like that? No. That's why I like Hong Kong, Chicago, and Miami more.
Because I'm really into modern and post modern buildings, I don't really like the traditional non glass style buildings all too much unless there's a few of them in a skyline with mostly glass styled buildings to add diversity to the skyline... but that's about it.
I've got a lot of respect for you as a poster, and that's true, but you can't presently say New York City looks more modern than Hong Kong, and you can't say overall traditional buildings are better than modern, it's highly subjective. There are always people who will prefer one style over another. There's always people who will like a skyline with 1100 buildings over one with 6000. There's always people who will like one during the day and another during the night. New York City and Chicago are pioneers in the skyline world, the ones that made it into what it's known for, but that aside, there are other cities in the world that have surpassed them now. Their time was back then, they're great but there's better out there (in select criteria), IMHO.
