Default Weather in Sapporo? Mildest Weather in Japan??

i was thinking about visiting Hokkaido the last time i was in japan, but ended
up spending most of my time in kyoto, and the surrounding towns...

i heard sapporo is freezing during the winter, and doesn't have a JR line, or
train line running through it at all...

TRUE?

can ANYONE tell me about how the weather is year round is in Sapporo?

What cities in Japan have the MILDEST, most even keeled weather?

It is VERY cold in winter, and in the summer it is not as humid as everywhere else.

no cities in Japan have an "even keeled" climate, because of Japan's proximity to the Asian mainland and fact Japan is on the east coast of Asia. It ain't San Diego...or Eureka.
