Europe while self-employed... (employment, costs, moving to)

Basically I just want to know if it is any easier moving from the US to <insert European country of choice here> if you own your own online business? I mean, assuming you meet the other criteria of being able to move to that country, you're not taking a job away from anyone & you're already supporting yourself. With the whole job/skills thing out of the way wouldn't that make it a little easier?

In the case of the UK, there is no visa for a self-employed person. The nearest thing is the enterprise visa for which you must have £200,000 to cover business start-up costs and your business must provide employment to at least 2 UK citizens. Other European countries may be different - you would have to check each one - the websites of their embassies in the US would be a good place to start.

When you move to other countries it's often required that you prove on paper that you're self sufficient by depositing a substantial amount of money in a bank of the nation you're moving to.
