Which of these two fabulous, world-class destinations would you prefer to live, work and play: Australia's Gold Coast or Miami-Ft. Lauderdale? Also, which area's quality of living is the best?

One is in Florida. The other is not. The other automatically wins by a sandslide.

Well they are not the same but similar in some respects. GC is probably better as it is much smaller in population but I can vouch the women in Miami are hotter.

Gold Coast by a landslide. The severe weather which frequently impacts Miami offsets any good qualities it might offer as a place to live.

Miami, it's in America....Australia is too isolated. and the weather is hotter in Miami. Gold Coast does seem nice though.

Australia's Gold Coast isnt overly populated and heavily commericalized like Miami-Ft. Lauderdale. So my choice is A's G.C.

I have lived and worked in both Miami's, Palm Beaches. I prefer the stunning and smaller Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Australia to Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood in Florida (larger and more spread out). Both are on Golden Mile strips of beach, but in Queensland there is green behind the gold - mountains, cool and stupendous, just like the beaches (which are cleaner in OZ than in FL).

I have never been to Australia's Gold Coast, but I've lived in and spent a lot of time in South Florida. Put it this way, I would never even go there again, but I would try the Gold Coast, if it isn't plagued by god-awful people, murderous drivers and excess materialism.

Although i probably couldn't afford to live at the Gold Coast i would love to live there as i've seen photo's showing it's beaches are beautiful and very tropical and besides most people speak with an Aussie accent as i love that accent

Of course Australia. Much less chance of getting shot, and if you do get shot there is medical attention at no charge. Plus the beer is better.
