Uhmmmm ..... train ?
or find somebody in a hurry and bum a ride ?

Really, take the GTV, since you mentioned cost efficient and fast.
Although flying may be similar but more boring.

First of all, my apologies for the misspelling, but then I often write hte instead of the ...

I have no idea how long exactly it takes, but I took one from Berne to Paris and it was running at an average speed of about 150 miles an hour at least, and it took about 4 hours ?
May be even faster. I knew it was fast since you could feel the speed when it made slight turns ....

I assume, from the distance it is from Paris to Geneve, it would take between 3.5 and 4 hours, depending on what time you leave .... (normal in Europe)

Now here the thing to do.

I am not sure how you are getting your tickets,
but the best way is to get on to
http://www.voyages-sncf.com/
and then get your ticket from them *on-line*.
Other websites usually charge you booking fees etc.
You should pick up your ticket at the train station.
That is the best way. You should be in France anyway, no ?
... hope you speak some French ????

You probably have to leave from Gare de Lyon and arrive at either the Geneve main train station or you can arrive at the airport station, your choice, but you do have to make a reservation.

Personal observation --- no need to travel 1st class.
The seats are two by two and comfortable.
On longer than an hour trips, there is a snack bar area,
about the middle of the train.

Have a fun trip
