Americans in Argentina (rent, buying, income)

Are there many Americans buying property in Argentina, specifically in the mountainous regions of Mendoza or nearby areas? I read that it's very cheap right now to buy property and you can easily rent them out for pretty good passive income. I have always dreamed of visiting that place, but my obligations here are preventing that. They are not monetary reasons, but others. why are so many argentines obsessed with euro-envy? argentina has a lot to offer that is genuine and unique, and should stop looking to the oh-so-wonderful "first" world for identity. fortunately, many argentines have realized this in the dawn of the new millenium.
