Default Stopovers in Geneva and Zurich

I'm flying to Prague this summer and I have a six hour stop-over in Geneva. On my return flight I have a 12 hour stop-over in Zurich. Would it be possible to take a bus of a train into the city for a few hours and check it out?

GO for it. At the airport find a guide service and ask where to go within your time frame. Remember that you need to be back within a certain time. !!!

Yes, we took a tour of Zurich. Usually they have two or three hour tours in a bus or mini bus. Hotels can set you up with them or go on line and google it and you can probably find it.

In Geneva, take bus 10 from the airport.Go down when you see the river, and walk Rue du Rhone for the most expensive shops. Go back thru Rue Basses, or waste some time at the lake.If you like shopping, bus 10, stop 'Balexert':

12 hours in Zurich is no problem. Leave your luggage in a locker (or check it through early) then get on the train in the airport and its 20 minutes to the Hauptbahnhof downtown. From there you can walk to just about everything. Take stroll down Bahnhofstrasse, or from the front of the train station, head left across the bridge and go down through the district below the universities toward the lake. Allow yourself 9 hours downtown (plenty of time to see the highlights) then get back in time to go through security, etc.
