America has changed in the past few years. Baggy pants have gone out of style. You're judging America by pictures/a visit from at least 3 years ago, a rap video, the ghetto, or you just happened to see someone that still dresses that way. A lot of American teens wear skinny jeans now.

Those are mostly skater kids or semi goths though, I think skinny jeans are the most disgusting things ever, most kids in my school wear what ever they want.

I wear skinny jeans. I never said everyone does. But overall, they have become more popular than baggy jeans.

it's a known fact. it's not like i base my views of americans on that, anyway.
(i generally think americans are great!! new york is my favourite city ever, and youre much less conservative than us which makes it all alot more fun! i love walking down the street and suddenly have a random talk to you )
ever heard of national tests? they are tests that students all around the world take, and the result is used to show which country has the ebst school system. well, as i recall, the US (and surprisingly germany) scored below pretty much all of the other developed countries.
two visits. all in all, ive spent nearly a month there.
all i said is that americans do not seem to have the same mindset as europeans. and the thing about the macdonaldses over there being packed is a fact. i saw it with my own eyes!! it might have something do with san francisco and new york both having about the same population as my country though so obviously there is going to be more people.. it was just an observation, though!!

"Proved", has it?
So they administered an IQ test to every single person around the globe? Very accurate study, I am sure . Education and IQ are not the same thing either, and standardized tests are not testing for IQ.
And my point is - how is your anecdotal experience more valid than the other person's? You judge a large & diverse country based on two short visits and a few cities, but you criticized someone else for basing their opinions on observations they've made while living in London (which is a global city with people from all over the world). A tad bit hypocritical there...

In LA, there's a lot of foreigners, and I don't notice much difference in nationalities as far as aging goes, although they do dress differently. Quite honestly, the few teens I've met from Europe seemed younger & more sheltered, but I think that's just those individuals.

Geeze- i didn't say that EVERY single one pearson from america wears baggy pants and shirits but it is a fact that you don't care much about dressing. I don't refer to WHOLE population, but on at least 70 %.
And I lived in USA for 3 years so I know what I am talking about. Plus someone said that inteligence and education are not same thing. Well yeah that is true- but in today world i think education is more important- you can have IQ 150 and be garbageman and you don't have to be that smart and become a doctor. And american schools are joke- especially high school. When I lived in USA in NY i started one of the "best" high schools there- and I could not believe what they were learning.

he judged europe based on having lived in ONE of the cities here.
no offense, but you do NOT seem like the kind of person who has ever been outside of your own country, so i will tell you this: europe is soo diverse, you have no idea. there is a different language spoken in every country, the people are different and so are the traditions and cities. the difference between the states of the US is much less significant than the differense between the countries of the EU. if you want to judge europe, youd have to travel around in more than one country, not to say one CITY.
and its not normal to test EVERY person in a country to make statistics - what they do is, they test a few (hundred) from each country and compare them against eachother.
ive visited 3 different states in the US - two on the east coast and one on the west coast. all together, ive spent about 1 month over there. while i was there, i saw some of the most packed macdonaldses ive seen in my whole life.
from my observations - would it not be pretty fair to say that americans seem to eat more fast/junk food than europeans? (keep in mind that ive traveled through most of europe). cuz thats all i ever said!
