Don't really understand Waldheim...
Why was he praised at the UN and welcomed warmly in every country and later vilified as the elected President of Austria?
Certainly being at the UN in his position is subject to much more world scrutiny than being President of Austria...

as to Kufstein: threre is also Hallein; the entire region is famous for SALT.
(50 km from upper bavaria ~~~ bad reichenhall?)

I always take visitors to Hallstadt... having lunch on the terrace restaurant overlooking the lake below and the snow capped mountains above is breathtaking...

A favorite drive is the Post Alm road over the mountain...
One caution... the summer weather in the mountains of Austria is changeable... rain can occur just about anytime...
