It always amazes me--this intellectually lazy argument that because one problem exists it is wrong or impossible or inefficient to worry about another thing. Ergo--we need to dismiss concern for a human interest story since people have economic and social woes. And in this cae it is almost funny---we can discuss all the above mentioned issues but this father/son saga will break the bank of national conversation. So--nothing should be on this board except the unemployment rate, politics, current affairs and self-help advice? Walk and chew gum at the same time, please.

It's not intellectually lazy; it's intelligent. This ability to get all hyped up about a human interest story is like a terminal brain cancer patient stressing over whether he gets all his fiber. None of your analogies actually apply, though they all sound cool to anyone who doesn't apply any reason to them.
But if we're going to get snotty, very well. The only reason anyone has any idea of this case is because the media laid it before them, chosen from out of however many hundreds of similar stories are currently ongoing in their notice. Anyone who bit on the hook did exactly what was wanted: pay attention to something that was utterly unimportant, rather than pay attention to something meaningful. The people of this country are great at allowing themselves to be led around by the nose in ovine fashion. And the reason that's wrong is because it does distract us from far more important and essential matters, which if we paid more attention to and cared about more, maybe we'd have a real democracy instead of the current serial kleptocracy/oligarchy. So, if you care about this, congratulations. You wasted your time. I hope you enjoy the grazing out there, and that the shearers are gentle.

Thanks for the translations. Can you tell us why the Supreme Court judge was against the decision to turn the boy to the US Consulate? And its now going to be heard by the Supreme Court?

The child should be returned to his biological father. He was taken away from the father without the father's consent originally. Now that the biological mother is dead and the boy belongs with his father.

LOL. I sense a tendency for isolationism in your post. The boy is an American citizen. The US is very aware of American citizens abroad and a lot of us care about fair treatment for them.
The child should be with his natural father. This case is well known in several countries. Even The Frontier Post in Pakistan reports on it. Hindu Times in India. BBC. Japanese media.

It's outrageous and disgusting.
