The Brazilian courts have, again, thrown up a roadblock to David Goldman's attempt to get his son back from the family who has stolen him.
Despite the fact that the Supreme Court in Brazil finally ruled that David Goldman's son, Sean, should be returned to his father, the return, which was to have taken place today, has been blocked again.
The family who stole Sean has used it's influence to corrupt the legal system in Brazil.
It's outrageous and disgusting.

These difficult years have taken such a toll on that poor man. It's a travesty that this is still being dragged along - and I am positive that there is a special chamber in the pits of hell for the family of his ex wife, as well as the family of his ex wife's second husband. They are evil incarnate to do what they did to this father and child.

David Goldman, an American, married a woman from Brazil. When their son was 4 years old, his wife took the child to Brazil for a visit. After she got there, she phoned her husband to say she was staying and getting a divorce. Total shock to David, who never saw it coming.
The wife then married an influential Brazilian lawyer, became pregnant and died in childbirth. The stepfather "legally" adopted the child and has used every angle in the Brazilian leagal system to keep the child from his own father.
Despite intervention from biggies in the American political system, including President Obama and Hillary Clinton, the travesty continues.

This is exactly why I did NOT support efforts to keep little Elian (cannot remember his last name) on American land when his mother escaped Cuba without the boy's father knowing about it. Many people here felt that, once here, he should have stayed. But I looked at it from his father's point of view. If my husband, or ex, took off to another country with our child, I know how I would have felt about it!

Remember a few years back when that little Cuban boy ended up on our shores, his mother had taken him in one of those refugee boats and she died during the trip here???
Her extended relatives fought to keep him but in the end the USA returned him to his dad in Cuba as they should have as we have no right to keep a father from his child just because some perceived his life here would be better. I often wonder what became of him and his life in Cuba

In my humble opinion you should get informed first before passing judgement to an entire nation, you didn't even post a link to support your statement, here is one. (Including the translation from portuguese)

Brazilian Justices determines that Sean Goldman has 48 hours to return to the USA.

RIO - The kid Sean Goldman whose custody is disputed between the biological father David Goldman and the Step Father João Paulo Lins e Silva, has 48 hours to return to the USA. The lawyer of the stepfather of Sean, Sérgio Tostes, will try to appeal Judge's Rafael Pereira Pinto decision.

According with the Judge sentence, the kid has to be taken to the American Consulate in Rio de Janeiro in 48 hours, In these two days the child has to be monitored by the Federal Police.

Quite frankly, that doesn't mean a thing. The courts had already ordered visitation, return of the child, etc. The family is "connected" and Brazil as a nation has allowed this travesty to continue unfettered for years. There is no excuse for all the years this father has suffered without his only child, so that child could be used by evil people with money and power to feel like they are gods.

The jerk who married the ex wife actually went to the lengths of trying to have the biological father's name on the boy's birth certificate replaced with his own. How sick is that?

Also - as a matter of fact, the Brazilian news has widely ignored this story, and when they were finally going to air a story about it, the family stepped up their influence and got the show canned before it could air. Goldman's family and friends have taken to the streets of Brazil to pass out fliers to enlighten the public one by one - it's sickening.

Ok, I have to accept that I don't know much about the case, but how do you know all this? do you live in Brazil? or how do you know that the family canned the story?
