St. Louis International. It feels empty. And the squeaky. And dark. And nothing much there. It's very depressing.

My only experience of Lyon airport was one of utter dismay. It didn't help that I was delayed there for five hours but, nevertheless, the place was a craphole. It was a good few years ago, however, so things may have improved since then. Definately the worst I've experienced though.

I'm from the Netherlands. And have been on Schiphol and Dusseldorf airport. Both look very nice and you can find your way easily. But when i arrived on LAX it was one big mess. It look's crappy and it smells nasty. You have to wait for like 3-4 hours to get passed the gates. Because they want your finger-print. So no more LAX for me anymore. And by the way, are all airports in the USA like LAX? I really haven't enjoyed that part of the journey.

No, not all airports in the USA are like LAX, at least from a cleanliness and organization factors.
In terms of immigration ... pretty much every checkpoint I've ever gone back to the USA through has really made you feel unwelcome. Taking your fingerprints and picture is part of the process and you'll have to do it everywhere in the USA.

Miami airport is pretty disgusting. Worn out carpeting, dim lighting, gates about 1km away from the immigration/customs area (downright ridiculous!), non-working information screens, lack of restaurants/bars to eat/drink and overall a pretty crappy airport. They just need to bomb that place and build a new one from scratch because it is surely a disgrace!
On the other end, Incheon airport in South Korea was really nice, probably one of the best I have been to..super clean, lots of shops/restaurants, big informative displays everywhere and great lighting!

Newark International Airport try almost getting run over by the little golfcart trolleys. Hurry up and go nowhere. Philadelphia Airport because its dirty and crowded and I'll take a plane anywhere just to get outta there.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Atlanta. I just flew through there--of course, I had a flight that conncted via Atlanta--and the first thing that I noticed was everyone talking about looking at the moniters to make sure that their departure gate hadn't changed. Afterward, I met a guy who told me that, on one occasion on a layover there, his departure gate changed 5 times!!
Also, the customer service at the airport "eateries," which all seem to be fast-food (yuck!), is horrible. And the trash receptacles are designed so that you actually have to touch the container to throw something out (or, at the very least, strategically position your hand on your trash to avoid touching the [very diry] bin.) SOOOOOOOOOO GROOOOOOOOOOOSS!
