I've been offered a job in Abu Dhabi

Does anyone know anything about the safety of this place or anything else good or bad you can tell me?

bad = sharia laws, possibly a dress code.. just, all in all, a really strict and not very modern society.

good = the city looks cool, vibrant and modern, though i for obvious reasons doubt the night life will be up there with NYC and Tokyo.. dont quote me on that one, though. you never know..

also, its close to dubai which looks fantastic.

the climate is good if you like intese heat.

Be prepared to be treated like a black man in the south in the 50's.

If you are female, I'd advise against it.
I'm a blonde male and had some problems.
