Is it possible to live off minimum wage in Paris?
I want to move to France and hopfully I would be able to live in Paris. I was wondering if it is possible to live in Paris on minimum wage. I would be living with a friend so the bills would be split. Also we would most likely get the cheapest appartment we can. I would want to walk or take a taxi everywhere so with no car that would be cheaper, and I am hoping my job will pay me more than minimum wage. After a while I would get my career off the ground and make more money. But for the time being I would have to work for minimum wage. Do you think this is possible?

Unless you are a dual citizen, you will need a work permit to live in Paris - check out the website of the French embassy to see if you qualify.

Even On the picture of Paris 10th arrondissement, right in the middle,in front of a taxi, there's a woman with a scarf.
That tells a lot about today's Paris.

Well a two picture that don't reallly show something, the 10th arrondissement is not wealthy and the majority of suburbs are a lot wealthier than it. (Hotel Terminus Nord is next to the Gare du Nord, not safe at night.)
Paris 10th arrondissement
Vincennes (banlieue)
Antony (banlieue)
It depends where you live, this map show the wealth in Paris and its inner suburbs.
Paris outer suburbs tend to be wealthier than the inner suburbs.
In this map the wealthiest is Neuilly and the poorest is Clichy sous Bois.
There is minorities everywhere in Paris black, arab, asian... they are not limited at few district.
Paris is a multiracial city, not an homogenious city with few multi ethnic district.
Pingeonhole, honestly less than 20% of muslims woman wear a veil, yes Paris does have a lot of muslims but I don't see any problem of this point.

Thanks for sharing... interesting overview.
Seeing Courbevoie on top of the list is quite irritating however. Who would want to live in La Defense rather than, say 8th or 16th Arrondissement
Regarding the previous pictures... I picked the 10th Arrondissement by intent, being still a more "affordable" area (if that is word is applicable at all for Paris), yet still depicting the typical parisienne life... compared to the low-level northwest banlieues.
In any case the threadstarter planned to live on minimum wage, so Vincennes is somehow out of reach...
