I think they had this guy on BBC news a month or so back. He seemed to be doing alright. I think like most places, racism is concentrated in the cities, the countryside seems more accepting of difference.

Russia thorougout history has been a decidedly poor and corrupt country. Such enviorments tend to breed stupidly like skinheads and Neo-Nazis.

However, I really am getting tired of hearing about how white people are all evil, racist monsters. If that is so, why do millions of non-whites move there every year? I guess it must not be that bad. And god knows Africa has never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever had a problem btw different Africans....never.

I know that not all white people are evil. Strangely enough, bad people get the most attention. It is ironic that Russia is having a rise in Neo-Nazism, because Russia lost more people to Nazis than any other nation in the world, and if many people remember the Battle of Stalingrad, they probably wouldn't join the Nazi Party. Hitler thought of Slavic people as sub-human. Ironic in every sense.

Not ironic, stupid. Purley stupid. As a country decimated by 80 years of Communism, my experience is that alot of the former USSR areas are throuoghly messed up. Embracing such an ideology as Nazism is simply a reflection of such rot.

Not just purely stupid,but a poor reflection of learning history. The old saying goes "Those who fail to learn the past are doomed to repeat it." Some people have failed to learn the past so the past is being repeated, with the embrace of such stupid ideologies.

Somehow I don't think the countryside is more accepting of people of different races. I would think there are fewer non-native racial minorities in the countryside versus major cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg. There are more darker skin races living cities, hence they are more visible, hence more skinheads target them. Imagine if a flood of darker skin races moved to the Russian countryside, I wonder what the reaction would be like in the countryside.
